Company to Support Defending the Rim program for second year

(Reston, Va.) Jan. 19, 2016 - Leidos, a national security, health and engineering solutions company, is sponsoring the Washington Wizards ' Military Night at Verizon Center on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. as the Wizards take on the Miami Heat. Leidos has donated 300 tickets to the USO (United Service Organizations) for active duty members and members of their family to attend that night's game.

Leidos will once again support the 'Defending the Rim' program by donating $100 for every blocked shot during the season to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) in honor of those serving our nation. Last year, Leidos donated $37,800 to SOWF. Additionally, Leidos is the presenting sponsor of the Service Member Ticket Donation Program, 'Tickets for Troops', which allows Wizards season ticket holders the opportunity to donate their unused game tickets directly to U.S. military service members supported by the USO.

'We're excited that, through our continued sponsorship of Military Appreciation Night, we're able to support our military veterans, troops, and their families,' said Leidos Chief Executive Officer Roger Krone.

The USO offers an extensive range of programs and entertainment events around the world to lift the spirits of America's troops and their families. SOWF provides support and assistance to active and reserve personnel serving in the U.S. Special Operations Command. Special Operations Forces are comprised of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps personnel.

'We are honored to continue our partnership with Leidos,' stated Jim Van Stone, chief revenue officer for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. 'Military Appreciation Night is one of our most important initiatives because it allows us to thank those who have served and their families

During Military Night, Wounded Warriors will be recognized in-game for their contribution. A Joint Forces Color Guard will be presenting the colors during the National Anthem. There will also be a physical test challenge between the five branches of the military and lastly, the halftime entertainment will feature the Silent Drill Team.
