ID LOGISTICS DEPLOYS INTELLIGENT ORDER PREPARATION ROBOTS IN ITS NEW SESEÑA SITE IN SPAIN

ID Logistics, one of the leading international contract logistics operators, is deploying an innovative robotic order picking and stock replenishment system at its new e-commerce logistics site in Seseña, near Toledo (Spain).

ID Logistics is deploying 80 LocusBots™, collaborative and autonomous robots, at the brand new Seseña site (30,000 m²), near Toledo. These robots are tasked with automating the location, preparation, loading and unloading of orders, as well as the replenishment of inventory for the new Woman's Secret e-commerce site.

LOCUSBOTS™: AN INTELLIGENT COMPANION, OPTIMISING PRODUCTIVITY FOR E-COMMERCE WHILE PRESERVING EMPLOYEE HEALTH

Similar to small trolleys, these robots can be equipped with crates or bins to receive the various orders and product references. Equipped with a touch screen displaying the goods to be picked, they work in collaboration with the picker, to facilitate the picking process while optimizing its productivity.

LocusBotsTM are able to autonomously travel to picking locations, calculate optimal navigation routes, automatically learn the most efficient routes for collections, while sharing this information with other robots. Thus, productivity is increased, while optimizing travel.

Employees can interact with several robots working independently of each other, in order to execute several orders and tasks at the same time. This technology saves more than 40% of time compared to conventional order picking.

On the prevention side, these assisted picking and multitasking robots make it possible to reduce the physical effort of employees compared to the use of a manual trolley. The LocusBots™ will meet the preparers, to minimize the course of travel, and help them to be more efficient.

Equipped with Lidars sensors and artificial intelligence, these robots visualize their environment detecting employees and objects. They communicate with each other and thus optimise their routes.

PRESS RELEASE INNOVATION #3

2 December 2021

A TECHNOLOGY THAT REDUCES THE RISK OF ERROR

This innovation allows ID Logistics to take a new step in its process of automating and securing operations. Easily integrated into the WMS system, it also does not require any special layout of the warehouse, which facilitates its deployment. Dashboards and management reports are communicated in real time to monitor the site's productivity rates as closely as possible.

In order to minimize preparation errors as much as possible, the robot will first detect the language used by the order picker, for a better understanding and interaction with him. It will then display via the screen, the images of the goods to be picked, and will indicate where to position the unit. This increases the agility of the preparation process. This technology also contributes to the improvement of employee training.

ID Logistics is deploying a total of 120 robots in several of the group's sites over the coming months.
