Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced that, as part of the revamp, Global Chief Marketing Officer Maryam Banikarim and Global Head of Capital Strategy, Franchising and Select Service Steve Haggerty are expected to step down, and their positions will be eliminated. Hyatt Hotels Corp. plans to make several executive and operational changes by the end of the second quarter, including the creation of a new chief commercial officer position. The new executive, who will report to President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian, will oversee a new commercial services portfolio, which will combine guest and customer engagement functions. The company expects to finish the selection process for this position in the second quarter. Two executives will be transitioning out of the company later in the year. Hyatt is also combining managed and franchised hotel operations and owner relations under a single umbrella, reporting to Chuck Floyd, global president of operations, and the legal and corporate services portfolio is being realigned under new leadership. Interim General Counsel Margaret Egan was promoted to general counsel. Banikarim will lead the marketing organization until the end of April 2018, while Haggerty will stay on as a special adviser to the CEO through July 2018.
