  • Bug Future Show 2017: A unique whole-day technology show taking place in the 'Europa' Zagreb cinema
  • Top experts, teachers heroes, and superheroes will present the latest technology trends at another impressive audio and visual performance on 26 January

Lecturers, panellists, and other participants of this year's Bug Future Show's programme (#BFS2017) will present how to provide for building a better world through the acquisition of STEM knowledge and love for technology. On 26 January, at the 'Europa' Zagreb cinema, the whole-day Bug technology show, generally sponsored by Hrvatski Telekom, will gather fans of the most innovative business nowadays. For the fourth year in a row, all geeks and gadget freaks, those who consider themselves techies and early-adopters, and the technology community, including influential individuals of all profiles, will have an opportunity to have fun and spend time together at this unique regional event and to listen to regional technological leaders, teachers, and superheroes, who entertain, but also educate us.

The Bug Future Show 2017 will start with a keynote lecture during which Boris Jokić, PhD, from the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, will present the importance of modernising the educational system and implementing new technologies in the regular curriculum. Ways to success of the domestic start-up scene, including, however, all anomalies standing in those ways, will be disclosed by Alan Đurić, co-founder and CTO of the Swiss company Wire and one of the most prominent world telecommunications experts. BFS visitors will be provided with an opportunity to learn how to achieve business success relying on the impact of social networks at the lecture by Ella Dvornik, major Croatian 'digital influencer'.

'This year's BFS will be a nice story as we are dealing with the future of the youth. The development of each society is based on education, and we are focusing on education in the STEM area, the topic closest to our hearts. We will also address artificial intelligence, gig economy, and latest developments in the area of computers and mobile communications, including an entertainment part that makes the BFS different from all other shows', said Miroslav Rosandić, Editor-in-Chief of Bug.

'At any moment, Hrvatski Telekom is in the centre of the latest technology trends, whether our experts are directly involved in the development of networks and technologies of the future or present at the very source of world trends and the latest practices. Thus, this year, at the Bug Future Show, we will for the first time show how virtual reality works on the most popular gaming platform - PlayStation 4. We, for sure, wish to share our commitment to the knowledge on the latest technologies with our ICT community, and the Bug Future Show is the ideal place where to do that for the fourth year in a row, as it is the largest regional event of this type', said Nina Išek Međugorac, Director of the Corporate Communications Department with Hrvatski Telekom, BFS's technology partner.

Entrance to the show is free of charge, but on an invitation-only basis. All those who have not yet received a Bug invitation and wish to come, should contact Bug by e-mail or via Twitter with hashtag #BFS2017 with a proof that they are magazine readers.

'I am very happy that BFS visitors will have an opportunity to meet true heroes - educators, teachers, instructors, and professors who already now, despite the system, bring science, programming, electronics, and mathematics closer to the youth by applying the latest pedagogic methods, thus developing their love for learning by means of digital technologies. These miracle workers will be presented by the greatest architect of a better world, Toni Milun, Math Teacher', said Dragan Petric, Executive Editor of Bug.

During the BFS, visitors will have an opportunity to win valuable prizes provided by sponsors, including the device that won the renowned EISA Award in the European Advanced Smartphone category for the 2016/2017 season, HTC 10, and a set of attractive prizes ranging from gadgets to valuable mobile devices and gift packages provided by Hrvatski Telekom, Sony, Zagrebačka banka, and HBO.

Ivan Šarić, traditional host of the Show, will make sure that the visitors of this whole-day gathering have fun this year as well. BFS visitors will also have an opportunity to witness a unique discussion during which Superman, Batman, and Spiderman will face each other for the first time to debate on their successors, i.e. the superheroes of the future. The strongest trio of all times will prepare a spectacular closing to the Bug Future Showa 2017.

The whole-day show is designed as a combination of the stage and related exhibition programme taking place at the same time in the same space. The stage programme is planned to take place simultaneously in the main hall and in the Müller Hall, where visitors will be able, among other things, to listen to the lecture on VR on PlayStation 4 Pro. The lobby of the 'Europa' cinema will host the exhibition of the latest devices, gadgets, and other sponsors' products, which the visitors will be able to try out.

The Bug Future Show 2017 is organised by the company Bug d.o.o., publisher of Bug, the most widely distributed tech magazine in the region, Mreža, the most influential magazine for IT professionals, Bug.hr, the most visited tech portal in the region, and Idea Knockout, the largest regional start-up competition.

The main sponsor of the BFS is Hrvatski Telekom. The event is also supported by HTC, Sony, Algebra University College, Span, Polycom, and Zagrebačka banka.
