Heartland Express, Inc. announced earnings results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2020. For the fourth quarter, the company announced sales was USD 155.789 million compared to USD 167.226 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 23.765 million compared to USD 17.662 million a year ago. Net income was USD 17.671 million compared to USD 12.789 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.22 compared to USD 0.16 a year ago. For the full year, sales was USD 645.262 million compared to USD 596.815 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 93.419 million compared to USD 94.275 million a year ago. Net income was USD 70.806 million compared to USD 72.967 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.87 compared to USD 0.89 a year ago.
Heartland Express, Inc. is a holding company. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, is a short, medium and long-haul truckload carrier and transportation services provider. It primarily provides a nationwide asset-based dry van truckload service for various shippers across the United States, along with cross-border freight and other transportation services offered through third party partnerships in Mexico.
