Franklin Templeton Investments has named Scott Collison as new head of alternative sales, Asia. Based in Singapore, Collison will report to Mark Browning, managing director, Asia. In his new role, Collison will be responsible for new business development of the group's alternative products in the region.

Additionally, he will work with existing regional and country institutional and retail distribution teams, to develop country level strategies in order to support the growth of Franklin Templeton's alternative products in Asia. Collison, with over 20 years of experience in institutional investing and alternative asset management, has joined Franklin Templeton in 2013. He also founded the Orvent Fund, the Asian hedge fund start up in 2011.

Collison has joined Franklin Templeton from Talos Strategies, where he served as CEO. Prior to this, he served as portfolio manager at Millennium Partners in Singapore and spent over 12 years at Credit Suisse First Boston as an equities and derivatives trader.
