Formosa Optical Technology Co. Ltd. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2018. For the third quarter, the company announced sales was TWD 776.226 million compared to TWD 760.898 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 45.704 million compared to TWD 54.375 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 72.780 million compared to TWD 97.485 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 1.21 compared to TWD 1.62 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was TWD 2,274.232 million compared to TWD 2,157.959 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 125.293 million compared to TWD 120.394 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 175.819 million compared to TWD 247.527 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 2.93 compared to TWD 4.12 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was TWD 2.92 compared to TWD 4.11 a year ago.
Formosa Optical Technology Co., Ltd. is a Taiwan-based company principally engaged in the provision of frames, optometry services for spectacles and contact lens, as well as the trading of eye drops. The Company provides frames, including optical frames and sunglasses frames; lenses, including near-sighted lenses, astigmatism lenses, far-sighted lenses, asymptotic multi-focal lenses and sunglasses lenses; contact lenses, including long wear contact lenses, disposable contact lenses, astigmatism contact lenses and corneal discoloration contact lenses, as well as various eye drops and optometry services. The Company distributes its products in the domestic market and to overseas markets.
