EcoSmart Surface and Coating Technologies Inc. received test results on its ECT-1 Organic Top Coat. The test was conducted by Katelyn Simpson from Tile Council of North America Inc. located in Anderson, South Carolina. The test performed by Tile Council of North America Inc. was conducted on EcoSmart's ECT-1 product for resistance to fungi growth and staining as well as friction coefficient.

Tile Council of North America performed "ATMS G21 -09: Standard Practice for Determining Resistance of Synthetic Polymeric Materials to Fungi." The test rates the product from 0 to 4, 0 being no fungi growth and 4 being significant fungi growth. All tests showed Ecosmarts ECT -1 product having a rating of 0 or 1 with the majority of the samples having no fungi growth after the 28 day test and rated at 0. The second test performed was "The Determination of Resistance to Staining - ASTM C1378" on EcoSmarts ECT-1 according to ANSI A137.1-2008 the product received a Class A classification. The Class A rating shows ECT-1 has no visual staining on the surface by simply running hot water over the surface for a few minutes.

The final test performed by Tile Council of North America was "ASTM C1028: Standard Test Method for Determining the Static Coefficient of Friction of Ceramic Tile and Other like Surfaces by the Horizontal Dynamometer Pull-Meter Method." The Test results indicated the average static coefficient of friction of twelve pulls was 0.79 dry and 0.79 wet. This proves ECT-1 Top Coat prevents a surface from having a lower level of coefficient of friction when wet.
