Several engineers in Exponent's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science practice were recently nominated for The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Power & Energy Society (PES).

PES provides the world's largest forum for sharing the latest in technological developments in the electric power industry, for developing standards that guide the development and construction of equipment and systems, and for educating members of the industry and the general public.

Dr. Benjamin Cotts is nominated for the 2018 IEEE PES Meritorious Service Award. This award recognizes outstanding contributions in leadership, technical activities, and educational activities of the IEEE Power & Energy Society.

Dr. Jay Prigmore is nominated for the 2018 IEEE PES Outstanding Young Engineer Award. This award was established to recognize engineers 35 years of age or under 'for outstanding contributions in the leadership of technical society activities including local and/or transnational PES and other technical societies, leadership in community and humanitarian activities, and evidence of technical competence through significant engineering achievements.'

Dr. Ahmad Shahsiah is nominated for the 2018 IEEE PES Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award. This award is given to an outstanding electric power engineering educator for excellence in teaching; ability to inspire students; contributions to education and the publication of textbooks and other writings; innovations in power engineering education; leadership; and service to the profession and power engineering education community.
