EQK Realty Investors I is a Massachusetts business trust. The Company's sole remaining real estate asset is the Harrisburg East Mall (the Mall). The Mall is located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. At December 31, 1999, the Mall had 80 in-line mall and outparcel tenants (excluding anchor store tenants) occupying approximately 272,000 square feet of gross leasable area, representing an occupancy rate of approximately 81%. On December 14, 1999, the Company filed a voluntary petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. The Company is now operating as a "debtor-in-possession" pursuant to Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
