Duro Felguera wins new Operation and Maintenance contract for ENCE 50 MW Biomass Plant in Huelva

Thursday, 12 November 2020. Duro Felguera, a Spanish company specializing in the delivery of turnkey projects and the provision of specialized services in the energy, mining & handling and oil & gas sectors, has won a new contract for the operation and maintenance of the ENCE biomass plant in Huelva (Andalusia).

Duro Felguera will be in charge of the operation and maintenance of ENCE's 50 MW biomass plant in Huelva for a period of two years. Additionally, the contract provides for an extension of 3 years.

Duro Felguera thus reinforces its position in Renewable Energies, and particularly in Biomass, where it has been operating and maintaining plants of this kind for over 10 years, a highly complex task due to the varying nature of the fuel.

In the case of this facility, a field in which Duro Felguera has several years of experience from previous contracts, the boiler has a fluidised bed technology, which allows for a wide range of fuels. This in turn implies a high demand on the operation of the plant. In addition, this new milestone will allow Duro Felguera to consolidate its geographical establishment in an industrial centre as important as Huelva, where a multitude of companies from sectors such as mining, refining, petrochemicals and energy generation all operate.
