Shares of power producers fell, but not by as much as the broad market, as traders rotated into defensive sectors.

Residents of Moore County, N.C., could be without power for much of the week as technicians attempted to repair two substations damaged by what authorities said was a targeted attack using guns.

Duke Energy said Dhiaa Jamil, the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer, will retire next year.
