Dawood Equities Ltd. reported unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenue of PKR 11,348,186 against PKR 8,874,026 a year ago. Loss before taxation was PKR 3,053,101 against profit of PKR 9,080,959 a year ago. Loss after taxation was PKR 20,965,549 or PKR 0.84 per basic and diluted share against profit of PKR 5,291,917 or PKR 0.21 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported operating revenue of PKR 21,216,268 against PKR 14,148,623 a year ago. Loss before taxation was PKR 7,749,302 against profit of PKR 13,970,987 a year ago. Loss after taxation was PKR 26,854,628 or PKR 1.07 per basic and diluted share against profit of PKR 9,839,643 or PKR 0.39 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
Dawood Equities Limited is a Pakistan-based stock brokerage company. The Company's principal business is trading and brokerage of listed equities, underwriting and other investments. The Company offers a range of services, which include equity brokerage, underwriting of shares, commodity trading, shares custodian and allied services, assistance in respect of portfolio risk management, research report, daily market view, customized solution, financial and economic research, online trading, mobile trading, free trade-based SMS facility, daily email confirmation, trading recommendation, multi-channel order placement, and confidentiality on all customer transactions. It is also engaged in providing research reports through a team of research analysts. The Company also offers other services, such as review of individual corporate entities, review of performance of sectors, review of capital markets, participation in the initial public offering, acting as underwriting arranger and others.
