Danone has announced a global action plan aimed at reducing methane emissions from its fresh milk supply chain by 30% in absolute terms by 2030, or the equivalent of 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 by that date.

To this end, the French food group, which has a direct relationship with 58,000 dairy farms in 20 countries, intends to support dairy farmers in implementing regenerative farming practices and developing innovative solutions.

It will also collaborate and partner with peers, governments and organizations to develop innovation, report and advance financing models, as well as engage in dialogue with public authorities.

Also as part of this policy, Danone announces a partnership with Environnemental Defense Fund, a global environmental non-profit organization present in nearly 30 countries.
