Brookfield Asset Management Inc. on Thursday reported a lower profit despite higher revenue in the third quarter.

The Canadian alternative investment management company reported net income of $423 million, or 24 cents a share, compared with $797 million, or 47 cents a share, a year earlier.

Operating funds from operations rose to $1.22 billion from $934 million, it said.

Revenue rose to $23.42 billion from $19.25 billion, it said.
