(Alliance News) - Telecom Italia Spa and Broadcom Inc on Monday announced a new collaboration that may enable them to offer innovative and secure cloud solutions to private companies and public administration.

Thanks to this agreement, TIM will become part of the Broadcom Advantage Partner program and will become the first VMware Cloud Service Provider - VCSP in Italy at the Pinnacle level, the highest, with the goal of supporting customers in the adoption of cloud applications based on the new VMware Cloud Foundation - VCF platform.

TIM Enterprise will thus be able to propose to customers, through its data centers and widespread presence throughout the country, the services and portability of licenses of the platform thanks to the "TIM Cloud Flex" offering, enabling the creation of a private and hybrid cloud infrastructure that is accessible, flexible and integrated between different cloud systems.

"As a Pinnacle partner, TIM's industry expertise and experience play a crucial role in supporting VMware customers on their cloud journey," said Ahmar Mohamed, vice president of Partners, Managed Services, and Solutions GTM, VMware Cloud Foundation Division at Broadcom.

"The Pinnacle VCSP layer is designed to strengthen relationships with our key service provider partners with the goal of helping customers adopt a highly efficient operating model that integrates the scalability and flexibility of the public cloud with the security and performance of the private cloud."

"TIM Cloud Flex, based on the new VMware Cloud Foundation, will offer a private and hybrid cloud experience that will allow customers to focus on realizing their business priorities without worrying about IT asset management," explained Elio Schiavo, Chief Enterprise and Innovative Solutions Officer at TIM.

"The common goal is to accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises by offering them the best solutions in private and hybrid cloud with more choice and flexibility to address the most complex market challenges and achieve key business objectives."

TIM Cloud Flex will offer a catalog of cloud solutions based on the new VMware Cloud Foundation that can be integrated with management and professional services to provide customers with a scalable architecture that adapts to different business needs.

The new VMware Cloud Foundation, which will be provided by TIM, will help customers modernize their cloud infrastructure by providing developers with broad management autonomy with support for Virtual Machines and containerized workloads on a single platform and ensuring high levels of resilience and security.

Customers will be able to leverage TIM's expertise, customized services, and resources to build scalable projects, optimize costs based on application load requirements, reduce complexity, and delegate service automation while ensuring they meet industry and regulatory compliance requirements.

TIM's stock is down 0.8 percent at EUR0.28 per share.
