Boeing has announced that it has supplied NASA with the second center stage of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, designed for the Artemis II mission to orbit the moon with the first humans since the end of the Apollo program 50 years ago.

Measuring over 200 feet high and powered by four RS-25 engines, alongside two solid-fuel booster rockets, this core stage will provide the 8.8 million pounds of thrust needed to propel Artemis II and future missions into space.

The Boeing-built rocket stage will be loaded onto the Pegasus barge, then integrated with the other Artemis II components in an assembly building, a crucial step in preparation for the mission launch scheduled for 2025.
