The "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World 2013" ranking, listing the world's most sustainable companies, was announced during this year's World Economic Forum, held in Davos (Switzerland).

ACCIONA has ranked higher this year, compared to last year, settling at 29th place. The other three Spanish companies on the list are Enagas, Inditex and Repsol.

This ranking comprises 22 companies from all over the globe, from a variety of sectors.  It is initiated by "Corporate Knights", a magazine specializing in Corporate Social Responsibility. The index is compiled by assessing in detail nearly 4,000 corporations worldwide.

Jointly, the companies included in this ranking made a total US$3bn in revenues (roughly 4.5% of world GDP), with a combined workforce of 5.3 million people in 2011.

The companies are assessed on the basis of a number of indicators, namely environmental, innovation capacity, corporate responsibility and corporate governance, as well as people management indicators.

ACCIONA's inclusion on the list underscores the Company's leading role in on the global sustainability stage.
