Stocks in Mexico fell Friday, as the IPC Index dropped 1.0% to 52788.50.


Among large companies, Industrias Penoles S.A.B. de C.V. posted the largest decline, dropping 7.1%, followed by shares of Alpek S.A.B. de C.V., which fell 3.4%. Shares of Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte S.A.B. de C.V. fell 3.3%.

Alsea S.A.B. de C.V. was the biggest gainer during the session, gaining 4.8%, and Grupo Financiero Banorte S.A.B. de C.V. Series O gained 3.3%. Corporativo Fragua S.A.B. de C.V. Series B rounded out the top three movers on Friday, as shares gained 2.2%.

Stock indexes in the U.S. closed mixed as the Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 Index declined 0.2%, and the NASDAQ Composite Index fell 0.2%.

On the currency front, the WSJ Dollar Index added 0.1% to 100.36. Locally, the dollar was equivalent to MXN18.11, down 1.4%.
