LONDON, Feb 29 (Reuters) - Britain named Clare Lombardelli, a former finance ministry official who is currently chief economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as the next deputy governor for monetary policy at the Bank of England.

Lombardelli will start her new role on July 1, succeeding Ben Broadbent, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
