HANOI, May 29 (Reuters) - Vietnam's rice exports in the January-May period are estimated to have risen about 40.8% from a year earlier to 3.9 million tonnes, government data showed on Saturday.

Revenue from rice exports in the period is seen up 52% at $2 billion. May rice exports from Vietnam, one of the world's leading shippers of the grain, were estimated at 1 million tonnes, worth $530 million. (Reporting by Phuong Nguyen; Editing by Martin Petty)
