FTSE 100 Rises as Ocado, Miners Gain; BP Falls

0923 GMT - The FTSE 100 Index rises 1.6%, or 114 points to 7209 as gains for Ocado and miners offset losses for BP. Ocado shares surge 37% after the online grocer and retail-technology specialist secured a deal for its warehousing-technology services from a retailer trading in South Korea. Miners Anglo American, Glencore, BHP, Antofagasta and Rio Tinto are among the biggest blue-chip risers as metal prices gain after upbeat trading in Asia markets. Still, BP drops 0.3% after the oil major reported lower third-quarter underlying replacement cost profit versus the second quarter, due to factors such as weaker refining margins.
