Dr. Rohit Sah is Founder and Portfolio Manager at Makalu Fund Management.
Prior to founding Makalu in 2015 Mr. Sah served as a portfolio manager at TCW (Trust Company of the West), which recruited him in 2011 to start up its International Equities fund.
There, he ran two new strategies: the International Small Cap and International Growth funds.
From 2003 – 2010 he managed the international small cap equity mutual fund (OSMAX) at OppenheimerFunds, which earned the ranking of #1 in its asset class for those eight years.
Mr. Sah’s management of that mutual fund received Lipper’s top award for 1-year performance in 2003, and for 5-year performance in 2007.
He was also ranked, from 2005 – 2008, by Barron’s Magazine in its Annual Top 100 Fund Managers of the Year list.
Further, he was nominated by Morningstar in 2010 for its International Fund Manager of the Year award.
Prior to his 14 years as an international small cap equity portfolio manager he served for four years as an analyst in bonds and currencies in Emerging Markets at OppenheimerFunds.
Mr. Sah holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University and an Undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India.
