Lorne Abramson

Mr. Lorne Abramson, CFA MBA, is a Principal at ELM Advisors LLC.
Mr. Abramson spent five years as a Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor at Smith Barney.
In the seven years prior to that, he was a Principal at Spare, Kaplan, Bischel & Associates, a San Francisco institutional investment advisor.
He has been quoted in Fortune magazine, Marketwatch.com and various other business news media.
He has also presented to CPAs, estate attorneys and other financial advisors on the mechanics of index exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Socially responsible investing – also known as environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing – is both a passion and area of expertise for him.
The Journal of Investing has published his quantitative work on the subject and the study has been cited in numerous other publications internationally.
Subsequently, it was one of 20 key studies reviewed in a joint report published by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative and Mercer Consulting.
Mr. Abramson earned a B.A.
from Rutgers College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude, and an M.B.A.
from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner and a California state-registered tax preparer.
