Prior to joining New Hill, Dr. Amara was principal at East Hill portfolio, working closely with the companies on business plans and implementation.
Dr. Amara has over wealth of experience in the biotech industry, in research and development and business roles.
From 2000 to 2005, she negotiated R&D business development transactions at Biogen Idec.
Previously, she had research, project management and licensing responsibilities at start-up and established biotechnology companies, including Genzyme and ARIAD Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Amara received a BA in Biology, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, San Diego, and a PhD in Pharmacology from Yale University, and was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Professor Harvey Lodish at the Whitehead Institute.
During her research career Jane published nineteen scientific papers in areas of cancer, cellular biology, protein processing and gene therapy.
