Audi cut some shifts at a plant Monday as floods raged in southern Germany, but they will return to normal Tuesday.

The Volkswagen-owned luxury carmaker said it canceled Monday's early and late shifts for the A3 and Q2 models at its Ingolstadt factory as a precaution. The factory itself is not affected by the floods, a spokeswoman said.

Shifts will return to normal after Monday's night shift, the spokeswoman added.
