Formula 1 will continue to be shown on Viaplay in the Netherlands for the next few years. The streaming service has signed a new deal with the management of the royal class, several sources report to De Telegraaf,

It reportedly involves an amount of at least 45 million euros per year. In the previous deal, from 2022 to 2024, the Swedish company paid 30 million per season.

Earlier this year, another rescue plan was launched for the ailing channel. The streaming service withdrew from a number of countries and Canal+ and Czech investment company PPF were given a joint 58.6 percent stake in Viaplay.

Earlier this month it was announced that Viaplay had struck a deal with Talpa in the Netherlands. The channel SBS9 was renamed Viaplay TV, and since April 5 that channel has also been showing footage of Formula 1, Premier League, Bundesliga and darts.
