Variscan Mines Limited ('Variscan' or the 'Company' or the 'Group') (ASX: VAR) is pleased to announce the addition of two highly qualified technical advisory professionals to its technical team; Dr. Simon Doring and Dr. Duncan Large.

Without question they bring valuable experience and intellectual horsepower, which will be put to good use as we progress with the development of our high-grade zinc projects in Spain.'

Dr. Simon Dorling

Dr. Simon Dorling is a geologist with extensive experience in the evaluation and development of exploration projects with a particular strong focus on technical aspects of base metal projects. He is a global zinc expert in MVT districts including the Lennard Shelf and Bonaparte Basin in Western Australia, Northwest Africa and South-East Asia. He is also very experienced in the compilation of competent persons reports as well as resources and geological modelling. Simon graduated in 1991 from the University of Bonn, Germany with Masters Degree in Geology and in 1995 received a PhD from the University of Western Australia in Economic Geology. He has since been an industry geologist with small and medium size exploration and mining companies, having spent most of his career with geological consulting firm CSA Global, working on projects around the globe.

Dr. Duncan Large

Dr. Duncan Large is a European-based geologist with over 40 years of experience in the mineral exploration and mining industry. Dr. Large's professional record includes six years with Rio Tinto Finance and Exploration Ltd., four years of applied exploration research at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the Federal Institute for Geosciences, Hannover, Germany. For the past 30 years Dr. Large has been an independent consulting geologist working on base and precious metals exploration and mining projects throughout the world. He is a graduate in geology of the University of Oxford (B.Sc.), Royal School of Mines, London (M.Sc.) and the Technical University of Braunschweig (Ph.D.), and is registered as a Chartered Engineer by the Engineering Council (UK) and 'Eur. Geol.' by the European Federation of Geologists.

Looking Ahead

Variscan's immediate focus is progressing with underground drilling now underway at the San Jose Mine and returning results from the latter campaign as soon as possible

Additionally, the Company will be advancing a number of follow-up activities and deliverables including: A geophysical survey of surface drill targets over the Buenahora license area

Local municipal approvals for the surface drilling application covering the Buenahora license area

A surface drilling campaign to test step out extensions in the vicinity of the San Jose Mine

Delivering the licence renewal application pending over the Guarajaz Project
