Vallourec said Monday that it would appoint Luciano Siani, a former senior executive of Brazilian mining group Vale, as an independent member of its Board of Directors.

The French manufacturer of seamless steel tubes says Luciano Siani's appointment will be submitted to shareholders for ratification at its next Annual General Meeting, scheduled for May 23, 2024.

Luciano Siani held key positions within the Vale Group for almost fifteen years, until January 2023, notably as the company's CFO.

He previously worked for the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the consulting firm McKinsey.

Vallourec points out that its Board of Directors comprises eight members, 42% of whom are women and 71% independent directors.
