Vale informs on the extension of negotiations with the Government of Minas Gerais and Institutions of Justice

Rio de Janeiro, January 29th, 2021 - Vale S.A. ("Vale") considers it is essential to repair in a fair way the damage caused, and the consensus with the public entities, legitimate representatives of the people of Minas Gerais, is an important step to bring agility to the reparation initiatives.

Therefore, and in response to the news published by the media, Vale confirms that the negotiations with the Government of the State of Minas Gerais and the Institutions of Justice have been extended. It was also agreed that the payment of the emergency aid, which would cease on January 31st, 2021, will continue to be made by Vale until February 28th, 2021. The extension of the negotiations, as well as the extension of the emergency aid payments, were approved, on this date, by the Court of Justice of the State of Minas Gerais (TJMG).
