Thales announces that it has been awarded 'two major cybersecurity contracts for the Galileo Second Generation (G2G) program' by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Commission.

Thales will be in charge of all elements related to the security and resilience of G2G: architecture, security equipment and protection against cyber-attacks in terms of detection and response.

These contracts, which represent a total value of over 60 million euros (excluding options), extend the Group's key role in the cybersecurity of the second generation of the Galileo program, since Thales will be in charge of all elements related to the security and resilience of G2G.

In this way, 'Europe will be equipped with enhanced robustness, in particular to deal with the quantum threat [...] and to ensure the surveillance of the world's leading satellite positioning system, thanks to unprecedented mastery of the processing of masses of data', commented Pierre-Yves Jolivet, VP Cyber Solutions, Thales.
