DALLAS (AP) _ Texas Capital Bancshares Inc. (TCBI) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $73.9 million.

The Dallas-based bank said it had earnings of $1.42 per share. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were $1.44 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.55 per share.

The holding company for Texas Capital Bank posted revenue of $355.5 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $266.1 million, surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $259.7 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $322.9 million, or $6.21 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.07 billion.

Texas Capital shares have decreased 6% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $53.38, a decrease of almost 8% in the last 12 months.
