Retired head teacher David Meek (aged 64) and his wife Sheena (aged 66), a former Principal Teacher of Modern Languages, have recently completed their move to a new home at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland's Victoria Grange development in Monifieth to begin the second phase of their retirement.

The couple previously lived in Dundee for nine years, and they are delighted to make their return to Tayside following three years in Glasgow. During 40 years of marriage, the couple have lived in nine different houses yet their new home at Victoria Grange is their favourite. David explains: 'During our time together, Sheena and I have lived in most types of property. From bungalows and semi-detached to detached Victorian villas and most recently a Victorian conversion in Glasgow, but our home here at Victoria Grange is definitely our favourite.

'It's so comfortable and well-designed, and we've been amazed by the quality. In fact, from my professional experience of school construction projects, I thought it would be reasonable to expect some minor issues. However, we are amazed by the quality and care that has been taken with our new home. The team here has been approachable and knowledgeable, and they have made sure that we have known exactly what is happening and when. They have also taken time to explain floorplans, designs and housetype drawings, which has been so helpful when you are relying on their expertise to buy off-plan'

Sheena adds: 'The design and flow of our house is so practical. There was a lovely range of homes to choose from, but in the end the layout of the Stewart four bedroom detached suited us best. The house is large enough to accommodate everyone when our two sons and their families come to visit, and David is very fond of baking so having a kitchen with separate utility was important to him.

Buying a new home can feel daunting with lots of decisions to make, but Taylor Wimpey's experienced sales and customer relations staff have made David and Sheena's journey as smooth as stress-free as possible. David adds: 'Taylor Wimpey's staff have been so friendly and professional. In fact, the sales executives Anne Marie and Jessica, along with the site manager Graham and our customer relations manager Jenni, have all taken great care of us and noted our personal circumstances, which has resulted in superb service.

'On the day we moved in, we enjoyed the thrill of seeing our new home with its pretty purple bow, and had a little chuckle at the thoughtful and helpful Welcome Pack that's full of life's little essentials. However, we didn't think for a minute how useful it would be to be shown how everything in our new home works. This service and attention to detail was superbly practical, and in fact, we arranged a revisit because we didn't quite grasp everything the first time around.'

Victoria Grange in Monifieth is situated close to one of Scotland's most picturesque coastlines and the town centre is just around a mile away offering commuters easy transport links to Dundee and beyond. Its location and transport links were key factors in the couple's decision to move, as Sheena adds: 'Being close to local amenities and transport links are important for us - we enjoy being able to walk into the centre of Monifieth, and the local bus services to Dundee and Ninewells Hospital make life easy for us.'

The development offers a great range of two, three, four and five bedroom house styles to appeal to a wide range of buyers, and it represents a significant investment in the local area by Taylor Wimpey East Scotland. Prices currently start from £246,000 for the Douglas four bedroom detached home.

The show homes and sales information centre for Victoria Grange are open Monday to Sunday, 11.00am - 5.30pm. Follow this link to view our Victoria Grange home page » https://bit.ly/2Ko8ZHA
