Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was TWD 2,645.972 million compared to TWD 3,189.599 million a year ago. Operating loss was TWD 177.773 million compared to TWD 298.596 million a year ago. Net loss was TWD 92.327 million compared to TWD 259.127 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was TWD 0.26 compared to TWD 0.74 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was TWD 5,486.267 million compared to TWD 6,290.482 million a year ago. Operating loss was TWD 669.027 million compared to TWD 435.668 million a year ago. Net loss was TWD 620.444 million compared to TWD 107.938 million a year ago. Basic loss per share was TWD 1.77 compared to TWD 0.31 a year ago.
TANG ENG IRON WORKS CO., LTD. is principally engaged in the manufacture and distribution of stainless steel products. The Companyâs stainless steel products portfolio consists of cold-rolled steel coils and hot-rolled steel coils, which are applied in industries such as food, chemical, household decorations, construction materials, electronics, motor vehicles and medical equipment, among others. The Company operates its business through two segments. The Stainless Steel segment is principally engaged in the manufacture of stainless steel products and sales to retailers. The Rail Vehicle segment is engaged in the manufacture and retailing of rail vehicles and other retail parts.
