Tamagawa Holdings Co Ltd. announced that it has introduced a solar power generation facility using an "automatic tracking system" in Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture, on a trial basis. Tamagawa Holdings built a 12kW facility on the premises of "Chiba Sodegaura City Mega Solar Power Plant," which is the company's mega (large-scale) solar power plant that started operations in March 2015. The sun-tracking mounting system is a type called multidirectional joint-cross automatic tracking system.

It automatically adjusts the angle of solar panels in accordance with the movement of the sun so that the angle of incident sunlight always becomes vertical to the panel surface. The system improves light condensing rate, enabling to make the most use of sunlight energy and increase the amount of electricity generated. Compared with a solar power generation system attached to a conventional fixed mounting system, the sun-tracking mounting system increases the total amount of power generated by about 20%-30%.
