Syntonic announced the availability of its sponsored data app, Freeway by Syntonic®, for Verizon Wireless' sponsored data services, more than doubling the company's previous U.S. subscriber reach. Freeway by Syntonic is now the first cross-carrier sponsored data solution supporting two of the world's three large mobile carriers (by revenue) and reaching nearly 140 million mobile subscribers in the U.S. on both Android and iOS devices. Sponsored data is an innovative model that allows content providers and advertisers to offer "zero-rated" content and services without impacting a subscriber's mobile data plan. The opportunities for sponsored data are growing, based on the findings of a recent survey by CTIA wherein 94% of millennials, ages 18-34, indicated their willingness to try a new service as part of a free data offering.
