STMicroelectronics and Geely Auto Group have announced the signing of a long-term supply agreement for silicon carbide (SiC) components, with the aim of accelerating their current cooperation in the field of SiC devices.

Under the terms of this multi-year contract, the Franco-Italian semiconductor group will supply third-generation SiC MOSFET circuits, which will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the powertrain of the Chinese carmaker's battery-electric vehicles.

In addition, building on their long-standing cooperation, the two companies have set up a joint laboratory dedicated to innovation to support the development of intelligent, electrified and connected vehicles.
