French engineering group Spie announced on Tuesday that it had been chosen to equip the new section of a fully automated metro line in Germany, in the city of Nuremberg.

The multi-technical services provider says it has been chosen to install the electrotechnical systems for the new section, as well as two new stations and a parking infrastructure over a total length of around 3.5 kilometers.

Spie emphasizes that the electrical installations required include all electrical work, as well as installation, assembly and connection operations.

In addition to the installation of around 1,300 luminaires, the company will also be deploying the project's fire detection systems, network and telecommunications equipment.

Work began in June, with implementation scheduled for autumn 2025.
