San Vendemiano (Treviso), 16 July 2024 - Somec S.p.A. (Euronext Milan: SOM), specialising in the design, production and installation of complex turnkey civil and naval projects, has announced that, following the adoption of a new organisational structure for the Administration, Finance and Control area, Alessandro Zanchetta has been appointed Chief Corporate Officer while Daniel Bicciato has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer.

The position reshuffling follows on the Group's objective of strengthening the internal managerialisation process with a view to accelerating the Group's growth path.

In his capacity as Chief Corporate Officer, Zanchetta will be reported by the new Group CFO and will also be in charge of the General Counsel function, overseeing corporate and legal affairs, as well as Stakeholder Engagement endeavours, including investor relations and ESG matters. In addition, he will be focusing on M&A activity and business development, notably in respect of the civil area of the Horizons, Engineered Systems for Naval Architecture and Building Façades business unit.

At the same time, Daniel Bicciato took over the position of Group Chief Financial Officer from Alessandro Zanchetta, as a result of which the Consolidated Financial Statements, Accounting, Tax, Treasury & Finance and Planning & Control functions will report directly to him.

Born in 1984, with a degree in economics from the University of Padua and duly commissioned and qualified to practise as a chartered accountant and auditor, Daniel Bicciato spent the previous fifteen years of his career at a leading accounting firm. In this context, his remit spanned consulting and auditing matters, developing specific expertise in the following areas: industrial manufacturing, contract business, biopharma and packaging, food & retail and multiutilities. Over the years, he worked on a whole range of consulting projects in the administration, management control, financing, multi-year planning and M&A areas. He also led extraordinary finance transactions such as listings, financial due diligence, demergers and mergers. He also led projects on financial closing, administration process redesigning, KPI identification and monitoring, and group policy updating for large-sized and highly complex businesses.
