Milan, 27 January 2021 - For the second year in a row, Snam has been included among global companies ranking in Bloomberg's Gender-Equality Index (GEI). This year the index has involved 380 companies of which 18 belong to the energy industry.

Snam, one of the main energy infrastructure operators globally, has recorded an overall score of 71.21% whereby improving its GEI of 2.1 ppt versus last year. More specifically, Snam stood out in the 'Inclusive Culture' parameter (+15.1%), which awards the company's commitment in spreading and promoting a more inclusive corporate culture.

The GEI has measured gender-related practices and policies of companies headquartered in 44 countries and operating in different businesses by evaluating those policies and initiatives to support and promote gender equality as well as transparency in the level of information disclosed to the market. The reference index assesses pillars such as female leadership, the company's commitment in equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture and pro-women brand.

This recognition actively reflects Snam engagement in promoting gender equality and inclusion. Indeed, in 2019 the company introduced gender balance within its corporate bodies and Bylaws and launched a gender parity policy fostered by its ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Committee with the aim to spread among employees and co-workers, an equal opportunities culture so that gender contribution can be equally assessed in decision-making processes within the corporate organisation.

Moreover, Snam has significantly increased women recruiting across all levels within its corporate structure in the past years; today the company counts four women within its Top management team.

The Group is also active on several initiatives aimed at encouraging young female students to carry on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) career paths. Among these initiatives, it is worth mentioning the ones carried out with the Milan and Bari Polytechnics through which nine scholarships have been assigned in a three-year engineering course.
