Snam has been confirmed for the third year in a row in Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting. The index includes this year 418 companies across 45 countries and regions, representing a variety of sectors, including financials, technology and utilities.

In the 2022 GEI, Snam improved its ranking by almost six percentage points, scoring 77.13% and growing especially in the areas of female leadership and talent pipeline, inclusive culture and pro-women brand.

Snam submitted a social survey created by Bloomberg, in collaboration with subject matter experts globally. Those included on this year's index scored at or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement or adoption of best-in-class statistics and policies.

This result reflects Snam's commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusion. In recent years, Snam has significantly increased women recruiting at all levels (+36% in 2021). In its ESG scorecard, the company has committed to further increasing the percentage of women in executive and middle management positions from 25% in 2022 to 27% by 2025.

In 2019, Snam introduced gender balance within its corporate bodies and bylaws and launched a gender equality policy, fostered by its ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) board committee, aimed at spreading an equal opportunities culture among employees and co-workers.

In the area of training, Snam is promoting several initiatives aimed at encouraging female students to undertake STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses, as well as annual Inclusion Weeks and several Diversity Talks aimed at raising awareness on the issues of fairness and inclusion among the entire company population.
