Sea Oil Public Company holding 49.99% working interest in onshore Concession L53/48 and its operating partner Pan Orient Energy (Siam) Limited (POES), have resumed appraisal drilling operations in 2021 intended to maintain production. The 2021 drilling campaign began with DD-10. The well was drilled during 7 February - 12 March in the DD structure to a total depth of 1,372.0 meters. The well encountered 4 units of sand reservoir with a total net oil pay of 38 meters, one of which has never been penetrated before in the DD structure. Immediately after drilling and completion of the well, DD-10 has been put on production, only from the top reservoir. The drilling rig was then mobilized to drill DD-12, expected to reach the target total depth before end of March. DD-11 appraisal well will be drilled after DD-12, it is the last well of this drilling campaign. Meanwhile, the Department of Mineral Fuels (DMF) granted a 1.86 square kilometers production area for L53-AA2, an exploration discovery drilled in 2020. The well was put on production testing for 90 days, and later shut-in. During the test period, the application for a production area was submitted and DMF had favorably reviewed the application, and finally granted the production area for the AA structure on 12 March. After cleaning the well, oil production recommenced on 16 March. It is noted that Sea Oil Public Company and Pan Orient Energy (Siam) Limited have strictly complied with all the measures under the Emergency Decree and occupational health and safety practices advised by the Ministry of Public Health including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and facial mask and face shield, adoption of social distancing and limitation of travel and operate during the unapproved time. It is commitment to continue fully complying with all these measures strictly.
