Those planning to use auction as a means of selling property in 2018 will be given access to thousands of additional potential buyers, as the Savills regional auction department based in Nottingham announces that it will be joining forces with its national counterpart.

The decision, which will see the Savills national and regional auction departments work closely on a combined catalogue, will provide more opportunities for properties to be seen by buyers from across the United Kingdom and overseas.

The change in format will mean that those choosing to sell through the Savills regional auction will now have access to a much broader market, including the opportunity to showcase their properties to 145,000 people currently subscribed to the auction catalogue via email. In addition, in 2017 the Savills auction website had over 950,000 hits, with 55 per cent of those visits coming from London.

Bob Crocker, auction director at Savills Nottingham, comments: 'This singular form of marketing will enable us to enjoy the benefits of working alongside our considerably larger sister auction house, opening up a much greater market for our clients and offering them exposure throughout the UK and abroad.'

The news follows the recent residential forecasts from Savills, which outlined that property prices across the East Midlands are expected to surge at twice the rate of London over the next five years, with the region set to see growth of 14.8 per cent, whilst growth in the capital is estimated at 7.1 per cent.

'Our national auction has incredible gravitas right across the UK and this link presents a superb opportunity to tap into a London audience, and particularly investors, who are increasingly looking for properties further north to add to their portfolios', adds Bob. 'We will still provide entirely the same regional service and our local touch will remain, but with the added benefit of a much broader reach and more opportunities for properties to be seen.

'We are always looking for new ways to add value for our clients and we hope the changes will be timely as property prices across the region are expected to increase over the next five years'.

The first regional auction of 2018 will be held at 2.30pm at Nottingham Racecourse on 14th February 2018. The catalogue will be available to view both online and in hard copy later this month.
