Sakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (TSE:4078) entered into an agreement to acquire 90% stake in Siam Stabilizers and Chemicals Co., Ltd. from Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited and Mizusawa Industrial Chemicals, Ltd. on June 27, 2018. Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited will sell 60% stake for approximately THB 180 million and Mizusawa Industrial Chemicals, Ltd. will sell 30% stake. For the year ended December 31, 2017, Siam Stabilizers reported sales of THB 574 million and total assets of THB 305 million. The transaction is conditional upon the approval of the general meeting of shareholders of Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company, scheduled to be held on August 1, 2018 and approval of relevant authorities. The transaction is expected to be completed on August 2, 2018.
