The VII hockey tournament of branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, has ended in Yaroslavl.
For two days, 9 teams of the energy companies' branches fought on the ice arena. In total, over 130 people took part in the tournament. The teams were divided according to the draw into groups, after the games in which the two best teams of the branches fought for the main prize - the Tournament Cup.
The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region Viktor Nezhenets, and Olympic Champion, Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR, State Duma Deputy Andrey Kovalenko.

According to the results of the tournament, Alexey Filippov from the Belgorodenergo branch became the best forward. The top scorer was Maxim Rubtsov from Tverenergo. The best defender is Eduard Volkov from the Yarenergo team, and the best goalkeeper is Alexander Popryadukhin from Orelenergo.

The second and third places in the hockey tournament were taken by teams from the branches of Tulenergo and Belgorodenergo. And the gold went to employees from Tverenergo, the team captain received the honorary cup from the hands of Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

Our tournament began with three teams, this year there were nine on the ice! We have witnessed a great game. I am sure that the winners in sports will strive for victories in their work!' noted Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

It is great that the power engineering competition takes place on the opening day of the World Ice Hockey Championship, in which athletes from Yaroslavl Lokomotiv will play for the Russian national team, and is dedicated to such a great event as the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is gratifying that for all their hard work, Rosseti Centre's employees have time to prepare for such serious sporting events. You have demonstrated excellent physical fitness, a great desire to achieve results and win. Such qualities are undoubtedly important in your daily work to ensure reliable power supply,' Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region Viktor Nezhenets addressed the participants of the tournament.
