Road King Infrastructure Limited provided group earnings guidance for the six months ended June 30, 2020. The Group is expected to record a decrease in net profit attributable to owners of the Company for the six months ended 30 June 2020 of approximately 50% as compared with the net profit attributable to owners of the Company of HKD 868,335,000 for the corresponding period in 2019. The Board understands that the expected decrease in the net profit attributable to owners of the Company is primarily attributable to the adverse impact on the performance of the Group's toll road business caused by the policy of the extension of 9 days toll free period after the Chinese New Year holidays and the following suspension of toll collection for a period of 79 days from 17 February to 5 May of this year due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the pandemic also caused the drop in market rent rate and hence resulted in the decrease in fair value of investment properties, and additional losses sustained from the poor performance of the non-core businesses during the Period.
