Qualcomm products mentioned within this press release are offered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries.

Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and Quectel Wireless Solutions Co., Ltd., a global IoT solutions provider, showcased the Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) solution for smart modules at MWC-Barcelona 2023. This solution can enable various use cases including dash cams, surveillance, manufacturing line management, etc.

The ML/AI solution for smart modules uses the Qualcomm QCM6490 chipset with the Quectel smart module SG560D. The solution can detect and recognize various objects and fully utilize the hardware acceleration on CPU, GPU, and DSP processors.

For years, Qualcomm Technologies has managed a technology value-added services (Tech VAS) program, developed by Qualcomm Incorporated through its Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL) division, to enable the wireless ecosystem by helping Qualcomm Technology customers develop and deploy advanced technologies such as the ML/AI solution demonstrated at MWC-Barcelona.

'The services provided by our Tech VAS team are just one of the many examples of how we have been spearheading advanced technology development, enabling our partners through technology collaborations to keep the ecosystem healthy,' said An Chen, Vice President, Engineering, Qualcomm Incorporated. 'The successful demonstration of our ML/AI solution with Quectel is another example of how our technology expertise and leadership can help support our customer's differentiation, global business expansion, and success.'
