For a global provider involved in molecular testing, relevance is closely tied to the impact the company has on improving human health and the level of success it achieves in addressing critical healthcare challenges.

Relevance may be determined by factors such as the company's ability to develop innovative and effective products and therapies that address unmet medical needs; conduct research that advances scientific knowledge and understanding of diseases and their treatments; maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards; build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as patients, healthcare providers and advocacy groups; achieve financial success through sustainable growth and profitability.

Businesses also need to be socially and environmentally responsible to remain relevant in the eyes of consumers. Many customers today are looking for companies that prioritize sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and are willing to support brands that align with their values.*

Sampling the wild

Our natural world is not only full of wonders visible to the naked eye. It is rich in scientific insights.

By analyzing DNA samples taken beyond human habitats, researchers can expand their understanding of the climate, public health and even food safety.

What lies beneath?

Which pathogens have been safely dormant under permafrost for centuries? Ice samples from the Antarctic reveal the presence of bacteria which threaten to contaminate our water and pose health risks to humans and wildlife. The more scientists discover before the ice melts, the better we can prepare to limit their impact - or even prevent the next pandemic.

Sifting through the forest

Remote woodland is a treasure chest of environmental DNA. Fur or feathers, scales or skin, dung or droppings all seep into the ground or are carried on the wind. Sampling soil, sediments, air and bodies of water generates valuable data for actionable insights into environmental changes, species and habitats.
