Financial Results Highlights for FY2022-Q1 vs FY2021-Q1
01 4% Sales Decreased
In the Laser Device (LD) business, orders for DFB lasers for precision machining and compact visible lasers for bio-inspection equipment increased, while orders for high-power lasers for sensors and NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering) decreased. Laser Eyewear (LEW) business grew 7%, but company-wide sales fell year on year.
02 37 million JPY Operating Loss Improved
Operating loss improved due to improvement in gross profit margin due to changes in product mix and reduction in selling, general, and administrative expenses centered on transfer agent costs and labor costs. The LD business posted an operating profit of 7 million yen.
03 56 million JPY Quarterly Net Loss Improved
In addition to the operating loss reduction, the net loss improved due to the foreign exchange gains from the yen depreciation.

Financial Result Highlights for FY2022-Q1 vs FY2021-Q1
Sales decreased and loss improved compared to the same period of the previous year.
Sales increased in the LEW business but decreased in the LD business, resulting in an overall decrease of 4% year-on-year. LD business posted an operating profit of 7 million yen, and company-wide operating loss improved by 37 million yen year-on-year.
