PTC announced that Kathleen Mitford has been appointed to be the company’s chief strategy officer. In this role, Kathleen will oversee key functions including PTC’s strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic alliances, corporate marketing, and academic groups. Kathleen takes the helm of PTC’s strategy organization after her successful tenure as executive vice president, products, during which time PTC and its innovative technologies were consistently recognized with leadership positions in such areas as the industrial internet of things, computer-aided design, and product lifecycle management. As EVP, products, Kathleen led an international team comprised of several thousand software developers, with major R&D hubs in the United States, Israel, and India. Kathleen received numerous awards in her previous role, most recently being recognized with the 2019 Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council's Tech Excellence Leadership Award. In addition to serving on the board of the Massachusetts High Technology Council, Kathleen participates in a variety of panels, lending her knowledge and expertise to future innovators. She is also a passionate champion of inclusion and diversity as well as causes dedicated to accelerating women in technology. Kathleen’s appointment follows the retirement of former chief strategy officer, Barry Cohen, Ph.D.
